Intel brought a range of retail technologies to NRF, the National Retail Federation’s annual show in New York, but needed a centerpiece that showed how they worked together. We built a large interactive touchscreen for the entrance of its Responsive Retail booth: a real-time 3D store a presenter could walk through, one layer at a time.

Each capture instrument, from store traffic and point of sale to product tracking, person tracking, and customer demographics, switched on inside the virtual store and fed into analytics views: heat maps of where shoppers lingered, paths clustered by behavior, and audience segments. The story moved from sensors to data to operational insight, keeping a crowd gathered at the front of the booth.

Ahead of CES 2017, Intel’s marketing team asked Inhance for an activation around the Run IQ watch and the Oakley Radar Pace. We built a real-time system that visualized the data streaming from each device as it was used: cyclists and runners performed between transparent displays and a digital back wall, their vital and performance metrics streaming live around them.

A custom Minecraft mod that told Dell EMC’s digital-transformation story in The Village, the show’s “Disneyland for IT.” Players upgraded Rack City’s antiquated server towers and defended them from an organization that fed on legacy inefficiency. Designed for 30–60 minutes of play with high scores of 600–900, it drew hundreds of players; the top score passed 15,000, and Dell EMC asked to keep it running between shows.
